Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best way to store gluten free biscuits?
For best taste, let your biscuits cool to room temperature. Wrap tightly in parchment or plastic wrap and place in a zip-style bag with the air pressed out. Place in freezer and enjoy within 6 months. Consider slicing them beforehand to make biscuit sandwiches easier upon reheating.

How should I reheat frozen gluten free biscuits?
Reheat gluten free biscuits from frozen by removing them from any overwrap, place them on a microwave-safe plate, and microwave on high for 20-25 seconds. Flip over and microwave an additional 20-25 seconds or until hot.

How do I know if my gluten free biscuits are done?
Our instructions give a range of times to bake your gluten free biscuits. 11-13 minutes is generally the best amount of time, depending on your oven's temperature. If you have an instant read thermometer, 190°F is the best temperature to reach for doneness. If you find your biscuits are gummy, you may need to add more time. If they are crumbly you may need to add less time (or more liquid). Either way, you should have beautiful golden brown and delicious gluten free biscuits waiting for you when the timer dings. Letting your biscuits rest for 5-10 minutes will let them cool enough for the perfect texture and eating temperature.

How do you eat your gluten free biscuits?
We love gluten free biscuits for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Some of our favorite preparations include butter and jam, Canadian or country ham, bacon/egg/cheese, gluten free fried chicken finger and hot sauce, and gluten free sausage gravy and biscuits. Other ideas include using our mix to make discs to top your favorite gluten free chicken pot pie recipe. Use our mix for sweet biscuits for strawberry shortcake. Or roll out and top with cinnamon/sugar/butter and cut into rounds for cinnamon roll biscuits.

Do you offer a gluten "full" mix?
Nope. We only make gluten free biscuit mixes. In fact, right now we only make one product: gluten free Southern biscuit mix.

Are your gluten free biscuits GMO-free?
Yes. Our ingredients are all natural and GMO-free. They are also egg free, soy free, and nut free.

Are you certified gluten free?
We are working on our certification. Food safety is our top priority. We work closely with Clemson University to batch test our product to ensure it's gluten free for you. We also produce our mixes in a dedicated gluten free facility.

More on Batch Testing
Since we only make gluten free products, food and allergen safety is our top priority. Our biscuit mixes are made with gluten free ingredients. Every batch of our biscuit mix is tested for gluten by Clemson University. We take 4 samples of each batch of mix and send them off to their labs for gluten testing with a minimum detection level of 10 ppm of gluten, exceeding the 20ppm requirement by the FDA.

Allergens & Food Safety
Safe eating is a requirement for anyone with celiac disease or gluten intolerance. To ensure our products are made safely, our team members are ServSafe Food Protection Manager certified and have completed the ServSafe Allergens certification.

Is it true your founder is a celiac?
Yes. We are a woman owned company and our founder has been living with celiac disease for over 20 years. In fact, that's the reason why we're here: to provide a darn tasty Southern biscuit to people who can't eat wheat. Our family is from the Mississippi Delta and knows their way around a biscuit. We worked tirelessly to re-create the taste and texture of real biscuits from childhood, before celiac disease. We eat these in our home every week and hope you will, too!

Where are you located?
Our HQ is in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina, where our little family lives, works, and plays in the saltmarshes, beaches, and maritime forests year round. Come visit if you can! It's an amazing city, so unlike any other in the country.
